Dell finally announced in details the computers to be sold with Ubuntu 7.04 Linux, and for the US they are already available to order.
It has just been informed by DesktopLinux.com. So far there will be three computers sold by Dell with the operating system Ubuntu 7.04 pre-installed. Starting today, May 24th, the computers can be bought here.
The Dimension E520n: The Dell Dimension E520n belongs to the low-dudget segment for this company. This computer will come with 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz, one SATA HD of 250GB and a processor of 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. The video card will be the NVIDIA GeForce 7300LE TurboCache. It will be sold for US$599.
XPS 410n: Now this model Dell reserves for more powerful computers for gaming of other functions that require more juice from the machine. However, the configuration of this computer for Ubuntu is almost the same as the Dimension E520. The biggest differences are: a 19' monitor and a CD and DVD reader and writer. This desktop will be sold for US$849.
Insprion E1505n: This is the laptop version that will be sold. This computer comes with 512MB of DDR2 SDRAM memory, a Pentium dual-core 1.73GHz CPU, a 80GB HD and a 15.4' monitor. The price for launch will also be US$599.
These offers will be valid initially for the US, after some time hopefully they will be available in Brazil and in other countries.
