filmesAustralia is the name of the new movie from Mounlin Rouge's director.

Hugh Kackman nos sets de gravação de Austrália

Currently being recorded in secrecy, the movie brings the one and only Nicole Kidman (Oscar winner for "The Hours") and Hugh Jackman (known for playing the role of Wolverine in the X-Men trilogy) as lead stars, and shall be released in 2008. According to Jackman's own statements, this is the biggest Australian movie ever done - and the best. As a note: the cast, directing and production crew are all from Australia. Nicole Kidman, although born in Honolulu (Hawaii) calls herself an Australian native for being raised there. The recordings, which started in December, are all set in Australia and has an enormous attention to privacy on the sets - attempt of the director to keep the story a secret. But of course that there is no shortage of photographers pilled up, trying to get at least a small image - exactly like the one you see in this article. The drama tells the story of a British aristocrat (played by Kidman) that sees herself threatened to loose her lands in the middle of the World War II. In fear, she decides to make a long trip, taking her cattle to a safer place, with the help of the character played by Jackman. But they actually end up going directly to face the war, dealing with bombings that were happening in Darwin, place where she sought protection. At first, Russel Crowe was likely to play the part. Lurhmann made it very clear his intention to finally unite the couple Kidman and Crowe on the screens. But the dream was eventually postponed, after some disagreements of the actor with 20th Century Fox. Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain) was called for the role but quit to go for the role of The Joker in the new Batman production - The Black Knight. Lurhmann, claimed for his movies like Moulin Rouge (also starred by Kidman) and the latest Romeo + Juliet (starred by Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes), is also responsible for the script of the movie and says to be really excited by the recordings.
