Rumors start to spread that Leonardo DiCaprio will be the new director of a movie that has changed the recent US history.
I know... I am not really the expert in movies, I am asking permission to Beatriz (author of our Movies and Art Blog) to give some news to our readers. It looks like Leonardo DiCaprio will be the next star and producer of a film depicting the story of Enron's collapse, the former energy giant. Enron, at that time a giant of the energy sector in the US, in 2001 subtlety declared bankruptcy after discoveries of several altered and misleading financial reports. The profits of the company were altered to hide more then US$1 billion in debts. The fall of Enron created several changes in the American corporate world such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 which is now under criticism because of its complex bureaucracy. The economy lost billions worldwide because of this event. Some of those responsible are still having their days in court. The film shall be from Warner Bros. and it will be based on the book "Conspiracy of Fools" written by New Your Times reporter Kurt Elchenwald. DiCaprio will have the role of the Enron's whistle blower. Lets wait to see, before I really was not very fond of DiCaprio's movies, but I am starting to like them. The most recent was Blood Diamond.
