The city of Fortaleza, state capital of Ceará celebrated its 281st birthday on this day of April 13th. Congratulations to this marvelous city or our Brazilian Northeast. The city celebrated with many events throughout the entire region. In the morning the celebration occurred on the main bus terminals of the city. Fortaleza bus users were waking up to the sound of many marching bands while on their way to work. In the afternoon there was a large gathering of art groups and performances in several of the city's main squares that eventually started to migrate to Ferreira Square for the main event of the day. On Ferreira Square the musical events started at 16:00 with local bands. The main attractions were the musical performances of main local musicians such as Belchior, Kátia Fretias, Edmar Gonçalves and Dona Zefinha. The city is currently going through a nice development stage. Its 34km of beaches attract tourists from the entire world. Fortaleza is also the fourth biggest Brazilian capital (in population) and the most favorite vacation spot for tourists of the Brazilian Northeast. The economy is growing with the Mucuripe and Pecém Port which are both very close to large industrial areas such as Maracanaú, metropolitan area of Fortaleza. Enjoy some nice sceneries of Fortaleza:
